This Photo Blog post has been setup to record a certain view of Lebanon that I experienced through a walk around Lebanon as part of Massirat Watan.
The walk started on October 1 on Martyr’s square in Beirut and ended 52 days and 750 KM later on the same spot.
Along the way, we distributed just under 10,000 copies of the Lebanese constitution and met thousands of people from across the country, in their own homes, with an aim to find a common ground and look to the future.
We encouraged citizens to believe in their own power to change the existing status quo, and to participate in political life in general, and the upcoming elections in particular.
We noted that the very large majority of Lebanese citizens not only face the same difficulties in their daily lifes, but most importantly they largely agree on the source of the problems as well as the possible solutions.
The common humanity we share is what I have hoped to show through these pictures. (click on the menu above for the photo blog)
